💪 Built for Real Dehumidifying Power — Not Lightweight Marketing Claims
DryPrime 50 weighs 43 lbs because it uses 5 rows of copper tubing instead of thin aluminum. That matters—copper removes moisture faster and maintains performance over time. No inflated numbers, just real-world results:
-
115 pints/day at 86°F · 80% RH
-
73 pints/day at 80°F · 60% RH
-
50 pints/day at 65°F · 60% RH
If you’ve owned dehumidifiers that struggled to dry the room, this is a noticeable upgrade.
⚡ Energy Star 2025 Certified — Uses Less While Doing More
DryPrime 50 meets the newest Energy Star efficiency requirements and uses up to 30% less energy than non-certified models. Ideal for large spaces where the unit may run daily.
Energy Star ID: 3417537
🔇 Quiet Performance You Don’t Have to Think About
With noise levels around 45 dB, DryPrime 50 runs quietly in the background—no disruption during TV time, conversations, or sleep.
🚰 Flexible Drainage Options for Any Setup
-
1.7-gallon tank for simple manual draining
-
5-ft drain hose included for hands-free continuous use
-
Garden hose adapter for extended drainage
Choose the method that fits your space—no extra purchase required.
🧠 Smart Humidity Control with Auto Shut-Off & Restart
The compressor stops when humidity falls 3% below your setting and restarts when it rises again—helping reduce energy use while maintaining consistent comfort.
After the shutdown, the fan continues briefly to take advantage of residual coil cooling.
And if power is interrupted, DryPrime 50 resumes exactly where it left off.

How do I keep a large basement (up to 4,500 sq ft) dry without thinking about it?
DryPrime 50 removes up to 115 pints of moisture per day, built around 5 rows of copper tubing — not aluminum — so performance holds up over time, not just on day one.
It runs at 45 dB, quiet enough to stay on while you're in the room. Connect the included drain hose to a floor drain and you never empty a tank. Set your target humidity once, and the unit handles the rest — shutting off when the air is dry, restarting when moisture builds back up, and resuming automatically if the power ever cuts out.

Gasbye Dehumidifier Review – Does It Reduce Moisture?
From ScoMo Media on YouTube

Set it once. It runs itself.
You shouldn't have to babysit a dehumidifier. Set your target humidity, and DryPrime 50 shuts off when the air is dry enough — then restarts automatically when moisture builds back up. If the power goes out, it picks up exactly where it left off.
Auto Shut-Off & Restart

Three ways to drain. All included.
Emptying a tank every day gets old fast. Connect the included 5-ft hose to a floor drain and it drains itself. Already have a garden hose? Hook it up with a standard ¾-inch adapter and drain wherever you need.

43 lbs that moves on wheels. Cleans in seconds.
Our DryPrime 50 dehumidifier removes up to 115 pints/day at 86°F, 80% RH; 73 pints/day at 80°F, 60% RH; and 50 pints/day at 65°F, 60% RH. We don’t inflate these performance figures—what you see is what you get.
*Dimensions: 11" D × 15" W × 24" H. This unit may be larger than some “mini” models that overstate their pints/day ratings.

How do I know if the capacity numbers are accurate?
Check the weight! Why? A dehumidifier's performance largely depends on the amount of copper inside. More copper means better dehumidifying power and energy efficiency. So, how can a lightweight unit claim such high capacity? The trick is that dehumidifying capacity varies with temperature and humidity—the higher these are, the more effective the unit appears. For example, the Gasbye DryPrime-50 model, weighing 43 pounds, pulls up to 115 pints/day at 86°F, 80% RH, 73 pints/day at 80°F, 60% RH, and 50 pints/day at 65°F, 60% RH. Some dehumidifiers claim 52 pints/day at 86°F, 80% RH but weigh just 34.6 pounds. Others even claim 100 pints/day at an extreme 95°F, 90% RH yet weigh only 30.9 pounds. You'll find that these lightweight models highlight their performance in high-temperature, high-humidity conditions to show inflated numbers. If you compare the dehumidifying capacity under the same temperature and humidity conditions, I’m confident you’ll see that Gasbye dehumidifiers offer great value for the price. We don’t mislead customers by labeling a mini-sized unit as a 100 pint/day dehumidifier (measured at 95°F, 90% RH) and then charging you over $200 for it.
Will running a dehumidifier raise my AC bill?
Dehumidifiers work similarly to air conditioners, which also emit warm air during operation. Although this warm air slightly increases the AC's cooling energy use, it reduces the AC's dehumidification burden. By letting your air conditioner (2000-3000 watts) focus on cooling rather than dehumidifying, running a dehumidifier (500 watts) will typically lower your overall energy bill. Stronger dehumidifiers emit more warm air, while weaker ones emit less. We’ve observed that some consumers are pleased when their new dehumidifier emits less warm air than their old one. However, this often simply means that the new unit has a lower dehumidifying capacity. As mentioned above, the amount of warm air emitted by the dehumidifier does not increase your electricity bill. In fact, it can actually reduce it (counterintuitive but true—you can search for more information if interested.)
What's the difference between a compressor and a semiconductor dehumidifier?
In terms of cooling technology, compressor dehumidifiers are 5-6 times more efficient than semiconductor-based ones. Although a semiconductor-based dehumidifier consumes only 60-100 watts and seems more energy-efficient, you would need a bunch of them to effectively dehumidify a space larger than 300 sq ft. In contrast, a single 300-500 watt compressor dehumidifier can quickly reduce the humidity in a large room.
Where in my home does this work best?
The Gasbye DryPrime-50 is a compressor-based dehumidifier with an internal compressor that causes vibrations and noise. It operates at around 45dB and is relatively quiet, making it ideal for medium to large spaces like basements, garages, and spacious living rooms. In these areas, it won’t disturb you while working or watching TV. However, it’s not recommended for use in small spaces like bedrooms.
What's the difference between ENERGY STAR and ENERGY STAR Most Efficient?
The US EPA has set two certification standards for dehumidifier energy efficiency. The ENERGY STAR certification indicates good energy efficiency, while the ENERGY STAR Most Efficient certification recognizes the top-performing products in energy efficiency. In 2024, the US EPA raised the most efficiency standards. Gasbye is the fastest brand to meet this new standard. This is because big brands often have large inventories of older models that need to be sold before introducing new standards, which can take 3-4 years.
