Before Troubleshooting, Ensure the Following for Proper Usse:
- Allow the unit to remain upright for at least 24 hours before its first operation.
- Always position the dehumidifier on a flat, stable surface to prevent any tilting or vibration.
- Operate the DEM Series dehumidifier within its optimal tempperature range of 41°F (5°C) and 90°F (32°c) for effective dehumidification.
Water Leaking onto the Floor
- If you're using the bucket to collect water, avoid attaching a drain hose simultaneously. Additionally, ensure the drain plugat the back of the unit is not only covered but also tightly sedled.
- Hose Connection at Drain Outlet: When using the drain outlet at the back for continuous draining, ensure the hose is securely cand tightly connected to prevent any leaks.
Hose attached to the unit's drain outlet, but water is not draining out
- Ensure the hose extends directly downward from the dreain outlet without any upward loops or bends. The dehumidifierrelies on gravity for drainage, and any upward bends can block woater flow.
- Avoid extending the hose beyond 10ft. Excess length carrestrict flow, causing water to not drain properly. In such cases, the unit will default to Manual Drainage using the bucket.
In Pump Mode, the unit is not pumping out water and shuts off with a full bucket alert. (for pump models only)
- Drain hose may be loosely connected to the cylindrical pump outlet.
Refer to Step 2 on page 23 of user manual and ensure the drain hose is inserted fully and securely. Any looseness may cause leakage or prevent proper pumping. - Exceeds maximum pumping height (19 ft).
The pump can only lift water up to 19 feet vertically. Check that your drainage setup does not exceed this height, as it may prevent the pump from working effectively. - Pump inlet or outlet may be clogged with scale or debris.
Inspect the pump's water inlet and outlet inside the buckst. lf buildup is present, clean the components as instructed on page 26 to restore water flow.
Dehumidifier Won't Start
1. If no lights are illuminated on the control panel and pressing On/Off button yields no response, it indicates the unit is not receiving power. Possible reasons include:
- The plug may not be fully inserted into the outlet.
- Your outlet might not be supplying the required 120V voltage for our device.
- Your outlet might not be supplying electricity.
2. Check if the "Full" indicator light is on.
3. Check if the "Defrosting" indicator light is on.
4. In set mode, if your set target humidity exceeds the room‘scurrent humidity, the unit won't run. Adjust your desired hhumiditysettings using the “+/—” button.
5. The compressor has a 3-minute restart delay. If powered off and on within this timeframe, it will start after this delay.
The "Lock" indicator light is on and the control panel buttons are unresponsive
Press and hold both '+' and '-' buttons again for 3 seconds. The Lock light will turn off, indicating the panel is unlocked.
The "Full" indicator light is on
- The water bucket may be full. Empty the water and replacce the bucket in the dehumidifier. The "Full" indicator will turn off automatically.
- Ensure the water bucket is properly seated, even if it seenIns correctly positioned.
The "Defrosting" indicator light is on
It suggests the room temperature is relatively low and frosthas formed on the dehumidifier's coils. During this mode, the far operates to defrost, but the compressor remains off, pausing the dehumidification process. Once the defrosting processis complete, the "Defrosting" light will automatically turn off.
Please note that in conditions below 60°F (but above 41°F), the unit may frequently enter defrost mode, resulting in reduced dehumidification efficiency.
Dehumidifier not collecting water or room humidity decreasing slowly
- Ensure the room's temperature is above 60°F (16°C). Below
41°F (5°C), the unit often enters Defrosting mode, affecting dehumidification. - Keep a 19.65-inch (50cm) gap from walls and ensure no objects block the unit's intake or exhaust for efficient air flow.
- In set mode, if your set target humidity exceeds the room's current humidity, the unit won't run. Adjust your desired humidity settings using the “+/—”button.
- Ensure the room is sealed. Ventilation, open windows,or air conditioning systems that circulate outside air can reduce the dehumidifier's effectiveness.
- Remove any humidifiers or vapor-producing appliances in the room.
- If humidity is below 40% RH, the unit may collect minimal water since the air is already dry.
The Dehumidifier makes a loud noise when operating
- Airflow Obstruction: Ensure no items block the units intake or exhaust. Keep a 19.65-inch (50cm) distance from walls for airflow and heat dispersal.
- Dirty Intake Filter: Clean the back air filter if clogged from extended use. A dirty filter may cause noise.
- Blocked Exhaust Vent: Check the side exhaust vent for blockages and keep it clear.
- Unit Placement: Ensure the dehumidifier is positioned upright and not tilted. An uneven placement can result in abnormal vibrations and noise.
- Uneven Floor Surface: Ensure the unit stands on alevel surface to prevent excessive vibration and noise.
LED Shows 'C2', 'E1', 'E9' or 'H6' Error Code
Turn the dehumidifier off for 5 minutes and then turn it on again. If the error code appears again, please contact support@gasbye.com for assistance.
LED Shows 'H8' , E3' Error Code
Check if the machine's environment exceeds 90°F (32°C). If so, relocate the unit to a cooler area and power it on again. If the LED still shows the 'H8' code, please contact support@gasbyee.com.
LED Shows 'C3' Error Code
Disconnect the dehumidifier from the electrical outlet then reconnect it to the electrical outlet. If the LED still shovws the 'C3' code, please contact support@gasbye.com.
LED Shows 'H2' Error Code
Check whether the dehumidifier's air inlet or air outlet is clogged with dust, or if the unit is placed too close to a wall or curtadin, restricting airflow. Turn the dehumidifier on again. If the LED still shows the 'H2' code, please contact support@gasbye.com.
LED Shows 'EH', 'ET, or 'E2' Error Code
Please contact support@gasbye.com.
LED Shows 'H1' Code
The machine is in overheating protection due to high ambient temperature or prolonged operation. The dehumidifier will pause but the fan will continue to cool the unit. It will automatically resume once cooled, and the "H1" code will disappear.
CoolPrime Series
Before Troubleshooting, Key Steps for Proper Use:
- Initial Setup: Ensure the unit remains upright for at least 24 hoburs before the first use.
- Proper Placement: Always place the unit on a flat, stablesurface to avoid tilting or unnecessary vibration.
- Secure Connection: Confirm that the unit is plugged in securely. If uncertain, unplug it, wait for 10 seconds, and then plug it back in firmly.
- Electrical Check: Inspect your home's electrical setup for ainy blown circuit fuses or tripped main circuit breakers. If these components are functioning correctly, test the outlet with a different appliance to ensure it's working.
The Unit is Not Cooling: Only Blowing Air
- Adjust the Temperature Setting: If the room temperatureis lower than the set temperature in Cool mode, it is recommended to set a lower target temperature.
- Check for 'Ft' Water Full Alert: If the control panel displays an FE water full alert, this indicates that the water tray is full and requires draining. For instructions on how to handle this, refer to the 'Water Drainage' section in the manual for addressing water full alerts in cool mode.
Frequent 'Ft' Water Full Alerts During Cooling
- Enclosed Space Usage: Operate the unit in a closed space. In such an environment, even with high humidity, the total moisture remains constant, allowing the unit's Water Vaporization System to function more effectively.
- Open Area Solution: If using the unit in an open space is necessary, run a dehumidifier alongside it. This reduces thee overall humidity level, thereby easing the condensation handling burden of the unit.
Unit Cooling but Not Enough
- Air Filter Maintenance: Regularly check and clean therear air filter, especially if it hasn't been done recently.
- Remove Obstructions: Ensure there are no blockages likewalls, furniture, or curtains near the rear air intake. Maintain at lecgst 12 inches (30 cm) of clearance.
- Exhaust Hose Installation: Verify that the two exhaust hoses are installed correctly as outlined in the 'Installation' sectiorn. Contact support@gasbye.com for complimentary assistarce if necessary.
- Hose Condition: Ensure that both the exhaust and intake hoses are not kinked or blocked, as this can impede cooling efficiency.
- Seal the Room: Keep windows and doors closed to maintain cool air.
- Adjust Temperature: If necessary, lower the set temperature.
- Room Size Consideration: This unit is most effective in spaces up to 550 sq.ft., assuming an external temperature of 86°F(30°C).
- External Cooling Factors: Be aware of factors that can reduce cooling efficiency, such as high outdoor temperatures, direct sunlight, the number of people in the room, and other heat sources.
- Exhaust Hose Length: Using an extended air exhaust hose could
lead to decreased cooling efficiency.
Unit Too Noisy/Vibrating
- Stable Placement: Ensure the unit is positioned on a level surface to reduce vibration and noise.
- Air Filter Maintenance: Clean the air filter if it appears dirty, as a clogged filter can increase noise levels.
- Understanding Noise Levels: It's important to note that portalble air conditioners may produce more noise compared to window or central units due to the indoor compressor. For a quieter operation, try using the Inverter Mode. If the noise level is still beyond your comfort, please contact support@gasbye.com.
